TROUBLESHOOTING

GENERAL ISSUES

The DIA does not start

1. Check that the power cable is correctly connected to the DIA and to the electric socket.
2. Check that the socket is working.
3. DIA switch must point to “I/ON”.
4. Unplug the power cable from DIA power block and check the fuses; if necessary, replace them with new ones of the same type and amperage. Repeat the procedure from point 1). If the system does not switch on…
5. Power off the DIA turning the switch to “0/OFF”, turn the manual by-pass valve to “by-pass” (to the left) and immediately call the Customer Service.

There is no power, but you need deionized water.

1. Turn the manual by-pass valve to “by-pass” (to the left). Leave the DIA on, so that you notice when the power comes back again.
2. When the power supply returns, turn the by-pass valve to the normal working position (to the right).

The DIA is making a noise.

1. The deionizer must not be installed on benches, furniture or other devices.
2. The front panel and the back panel must be close.
3. If, as well as the noise, you notice that the device is overheating, power off the DIA by turning the switch to “0/OFF”, turn the manual by-pass valve to “by-pass” (to the left) and call the Customer Service

The DIA has noticed the presence of water inside the DIA. AB06 alarm

1. Have the IONtank or the pre-filters been replaced? Check the IONtank head and the pipes for possible leakages.
2. Inspect the inside of the DIA as best you can.
3. Check the outflow of the DIA: it must not be blocked or even partially obstructed; the drainpipe must not be bent or raised or at a higher level than the outflow pipe.
4. If there is a serious leak and the internal pump cannot siphon out the water, switch off the DIA and wait for the Customer Service to arrive. When the DIA is powered off, try turning the manual by-pass valve to “by-pass” (to the left); if it stops leaking, you may use the analyser; otherwise switch off the DIA as well as the raw water external in-feed tap.
5. NEVER LEAVE THE DEIONIZER ON WITH THE WATER IN-FEED TAP OPEN, ESPECIALLY WITH AB06 ALARM OR IF THERE ARE ANY WATER LEAKAGES NEAR THE DEIONIZER.

The DIA has stopped working because the pre-filters have not been replaced and there are no new ones available.

1. Switch off the deionizer and activate the manual By-pass mode.
2. In these conditions the IONtank will last for a much shorter time.
3. When you have the new consumables replace it.

You can smell burning.

1. Power off the DIA turning the switch to “0/OFF”, turn the manual By-pass valve to “by-pass” (to the left), continue to work as usual and call the Customer Service.

The DIA stays in by-pass status too long or too often with AB01 alarm.

1. More water is being drawn off than the deionizer can produce. Contact our Technical/Commercial department.
2. The pre-filters are blocked and are limiting the production capacity of osmotic module; try replacing them.
3. Have you ever received any AH01 messages, even occasionally? Check previous warnings in the register.
4. Call the Customer Service.

The DIA is asking the operator to replace the IONtank more often than in the past

1. Your average water requirement has increased.
2. The DIA has remained in by-pass status for too long (in manual or automatic mode).
3. The total salinity of the raw water has increased. To measure this value, call our technical customer service.
4. Have you received any AH02 messages, even occasionally? Check previous warnings in the register.
5. Call the Customer Service.

No product water is being delivered.

1. Check the connections on the IONtank.
2. Be sure that the in-feed and out-feed pipes on the IONtank are not bent.
3. When you put the DIA in manual By-pass mode, check whether the product water is being delivered: if not, this means that the pump unit is damaged; otherwise, there must be a problem with IONtank connections.
4. The pump is not working (you should receive a specific warning).
5. Call the Customer Service

The post-filter on the external conditioning line has become clogged up with resin during the conditioning of a new IONtank

Traces of resins produced during the desalination process may be expelled during the conditioning cycle. In this case, the post-filter may need to be washed each time a IONtank is conditioned. If the post-filter gets completely clogged up with resin during the IONtank conditioning process, it means that one of the components of the IONtank may be defective. In this case:
1. Stop the conditioning process immediately.
2. Disconnect and mark the defective IONtank.
3. Open the post-filter and wash the filter cartridge with running water.
4. Re-assemble all the parts and connect a new IONtank for the conditioning process.
5. Tell the Customer Service what has happened.
6. All these operations can be done while the analyser is working normally.
